School Bus With Students Aboard Hit In Mahwah, Crashes Into Tree: Police

MAHWAH, NJ – Four Bergen County Academies students were taken to the hospital Tuesday night after a car crashed into a school bus, which then hit a tree, police said.

As the bus was turning, a Lexus turned east onto Masonicus Road and hit the bus, which caused it to spin around and hit a vehicle before careening out of control and hitting a tree 100 feet away head-on, Batelli said.

The 57-year-old bus driver was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital with facial injuries.

The school bus is registered to John Leckie Inc., in Hackensack.
