Boys soccer: Ramapo goes for unprecedented ‘four-peat’ in Bergen final – NorthJersey.com

Senior Connor Finn is a veteran starter back at sweeper for Ramapo.

The Green Raiders go for an unprecedented fourth straight Bergen County title in Saturday’s final against NV/Old Tappan.

Ramapo went from preseason darling to pariah after losing its first two games this fall to teams now with modest records, a surprising 0-2 start for a program that never had one under 32nd-year coach Evan Baumgarten.

“Being in practice with the boys, I knew what they were capable of. I knew the first two games, we were just nervous. We were tense when we came out. We didn’t go out hard. But I always knew that once we got the mojo going, we would eventually get back to the old way. I was confident in the boys and now here we are.”
