Pair brings 100 bags of heroin to Mahwah Municipal Court, police say

Two New York residents brought more than 100 bags of heroin to a municipal court hearing in Mahwah, police said on Wednesday.

Jamie Rauch, 30, and Dillon T. McCarthy, 25, were arrested on Tuesday in the parking lot of the Mahwah Municipal Building on Courthouse Drive around 6 p.m., according to Police Chief James N. Batelli.

Rauch was at Municipal Court for narcotics and motor vehicle summonses and McCarthy was there for a criminal charge, according to Batelli.

On Tuesday, Rauch was charged with possession of heroin and hypodermic needles, driving under the influence, careless driving and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a vehicle, Batelli stated.
