MAHWAH, N.J. – Mahwah’s newest police officer is a lifelong resident, a township firefighter and a former dispatcher.
Officer Liam Kantanas was among 95 recruits who were graduated Wednesday night from the Bergen County Police Academy.
The graduation ceremony was various dignitaries, including Bergen County Police Chiefs Association President Ed Kasper of Oakland, Bergen County Executive James Tedesco, Bergen County Sheriff Michael Saudino and Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal – who this week was chosen as the nominee to become New Jersey’s next attorney general.
Mahwah Police Chief James N. Batelli congratulated Kantanas, saying that he will be “a great asset to the agency, reflecting the new generation of officerswith innovative ideas and concepts to further the law enforcement mission.”
