Grill won the award in the Outstanding Lighting Design/Lighting Director for a Variety Special Saturday.
The award was one of several given at the first night of the Television Academy’s 2017 Creative Arts Emmy Awards ceremony.
Grill shared the fourth award with Robert Barnhart, Pete Radice and Jason Rudolph.
