At around 6pm this evening, Fire Companies 1 and 3 responded to the area of Masonicus Road and Airmont Avenue for a reported brush fire. After arriving on scene, Engine 115 found that an area approximately 20 feet by 20 feet was burning. 115’s crew immediately stretched a hand line and began to extinguish the fire. Rescue Engine 117, RS-1, and Engine 320 arrived to assist with manpower, extinguishment, and overhaul of the area. Also on scene was Mahwah Police who assisted with traffic control. Crews returned to quarters after operating for about 45 minutes.
