This afternoon (August 31, 2017) the Township of Mahwah has filed a motion with the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey requesting an extension for its time period to answer the complaint filed against it by the Bergen Rockland Eruv Association, Inc, et al. The lead attorney of record for Mahwah is presently stated to be Cleary Giacobbe Alfieri Jacobs, LLC who were engaged by the Township to serve as local counsel. Holwell Shuster & Goldberg, who were engaged by the Township to serve as lead counsel, are not noted as attorneys of record as of yet. One would assume that motions will be filed in the near future to request leave to appear, Pro Hac Vice, for the attorney(s) from HS&G. Since the HS&G attorneys are not admitted to practice law in New Jersey, a motion to appear before the court, Pro Hac Vice, must be filed to allow them to represent Mahwah in this case.
