Jules Blaustein and George Oliarnyk each scored one goal while Arjan Bhasin made five saves for Mahwah.
Marcus Kayal and Malcolm Mashig added one assist apiece.
Garfield will go on to face top-seeded Don Bosco Prep, No.10 in the NJ.com Top 20, in the second round on Sunday.
