Shortly after defensive coordinator Chris Diaz was announced as Mahwah new head football coach, he realized he couldn’t leave his specialty.
“I wanted to get some advice from Dennis Hard, the Westwood coach, because he is both head coach and defensive coordinator,” Diaz said recently.
“Ken is new in the teaching district. He’s really good with the kids and easy to work with. He played at Wilkes University and coached at Jefferson High School,” Diaz said.
It hasn’t taken long for him to recognize the differences between serving as an assistant coach and overseeing everything as the head man.
