Saturday, Mahwah Fire Dept hosted a mutual aid drill in an area of Mahwah without fire hydrants. Specialty equipment and apparatus from around the area gathered and executed a plan to draft water from the Ramapo river and fill tanker trucks for a 2 mile trip to the top of a long hill where the water was dumped into portable pools and then re-pumped to another two fire engines and a ladder truck. In roughly 90min more than 40,000 gallons of water was moved.
